- Rangarajan (Sujatha) studied his B.Sc (Physics) degree in St. Joseph's, Trichy (1954), guess who was his classmate there? Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam!
- Then he graduated in electronics engineering from Madras Institute of Technology, while Dr. Kalam graduated in Aerospace engineering at the same institution. They are good friends.
- He headed the team of engineers who designed and developed the electronic voting machine, now widely used across India.
- His pen name (Sujatha) is his wife's name. (He adapted it following the advice of the then Vikatan's editor, since there was already another Rangarajan in the office - I vaguely remember this, will verify shortly!)
- Rangarajan worked in the ATC (Air Traffic Control center) and also had basic pilot grinning training (He displays this knowledge in his novel "J.K.")
- He spent a complete day with the then commissioner of Bangalore, Mr. Karthikeyan, IPS, for one of his novels. He have also written his experience with the commissioner and his tedious work structure in his essay " Commisioner'ukku Kadidham"
- Sujatha was born in Chennai, but brought up in Trichy, by his strict grandmother. He have lived in Chennai and Bangalore for most of his life. Vivid and detailed descriptions of these three cities can be seen in his stories and novels.
- Sujatha was one of the first few writers to introduce science and technology among the Tamil readers. Government of India honored him with its awards for this.
- Sujatha, being an Iyengar brought up by a strict grandmother, is well versed in Vaishnavite Scriptures, especially Nalayira Thivya Prabandham. He quotes many verses from this work by the Alwars in his stories and novels.
- Sujatha was so successful that other envious writers criticized that even his "laundry bills" will get published, if sent by him to magazines. Sujatha himself hints/alludes to his popularity or such envious criticisms in many if his works, with sarcasm.
- Sujatha was able to successfully experiment with story telling techniques. Not only in the narration or use of language, but he was also innovative in presentation. In one of his novels, 'iranginaal' (she climbed down) is written in the form a stair case itself:

- Ganesh - Vasanth is a lawyer dou who also investigate crimes as private detectives. They are the most famous characters of Sujatha's work. Vasanth is more famous than Ganesh among the duo. One of the reason the characters become famous is Sujatha's ability to keep them updated across three generations of readers. They are the equivalent of Sherlock Holmes and Watson for a Tamil reader. Their (fictional) residence, Thambu Chetty Street, Broadway, is as famous as the Baker Street one.
- Sujatha have also served as the editor of various print and online magazines such as Kumudham, Ambalam, etc.
- He have also worked as the Screenplay writer for many Tamil movies, most of them directed by Shankar. Super Star Rajini starer "Endhiran" (Robot) is his last film.
- Sujatha is also a poet, able to pen both free and prosodic verses (Search online for " உடல் கவிதை"/ "Udal Kavidhai") In one of his answers he had jokingly mentioned that he might publish his poem collections titled as " Nylon There" (Nylon Chariot) ("Nylon Kayiru" being his first novel) But he actually didn't wanted to write more poetry. However, he used to mention and appreciate the works of new and old poets alike in his works.
